Welcome to Shira Hadasha!

Our 2016-17 membership drive is now open. Shira depends almost entirely on financial membership to run as a shule, and we ask everyone who attends services on the High Holy Days to take out membership. For more information, click here.

A highlight of our High Holy Day activities at Shira are our wonderful Children's Programs. Our dedicated madrichim have planned fantastic ways for our kids to connect to the Chagim in a fun and meaningful way. Please join our Shira Tots (pre-schoolers) and Shira Kids (Primary schoolers) between 11am -12pm each day.

We are also really excited to welcome two amazing chazanim, Leah Sarna and Michael Fraade from the United States to Shira.

Who Are We?

Shira is an inclusive Orthodox minyan in Melbourne where both women and men are active participants and song permeates the service.

At Shira, you’ll find a mehitza dividing the praying-space into two, but services are led from both its sides. Shira believes that Orthodox Judaism must strive for such inclusiveness, and it leads the way as the first such congregation in Australia.

Come visit us for an experience of prayer and song. If you need a place to stay or eat, don’t hesitate to ask.

See you soon!
